The important things you need to know about what we’re doing to keep you safe and well both before and during your stay.

The cottage will be deep cleaned and sanitised before your arrival. Frequently handled items, such as books, maps, DVD player, and games may have been removed (sorry) by the time of your arrival depending on the advice at the time, but please feel free to bring your own of course. When you arrive, we will keep our distance at all times (sorry), and you will be able to gain access to the cottage without any check-in procedure.

As Government guidance changes, we will adapt our procedures accordingly. During the entire period of the COVID lockdown we have adhered to the guidance and Dorset has been one of the least affected areas in England. We aim to help keep it that way.

Please check https://gov.uk/coronavirus for the latest advice before you travel. If you or any of your party develop symptoms within 10 days of your holiday or receive track and trace alerts please let us know straight away. Please also check your travel insurance for cancellation information should you develop symptoms before your arrival and can therefore no longer travel.

Until we are informed otherwise please ensure you add the following items to your list of items to bring with you: facemasks, disposable gloves, disinfectant wipes or spray, hand wipes, hand sanitiser

Please note that we ask you to sanitise your hands before entering the cottage when you first arrive to wipe away your journey – you will find a dispenser just inside the front door.

Arrivals at 3pm. Please do not arrive early and expect to enter the property as we need to leave the cottage to air for as long as possible between guests. Please let us know your anticipated time of arrival.

Departure by 10am. Please vacate the cottage but 10am latest to enable us to deep clean, sanitise and air the property before next guests arrive.

Instructions will be provided once the full balance has been paid and within a week of your arrival, whichever comes first. If we are not going to be here to greet you we will call you before your arrival to confirm where you will find the keys.

The internet connection is good (and free!) but we do ask you to download any films etc. before your arrival as live streaming can slow the internet down for others.

We use EE so we know that one is fine. Most other mobiles work in this are but you may wish to check their coverage with the providers.

Yes. There is ample space for one car per cottage. Please contact us in advance if you wish to bring 2 cars as it may not be possible to fit more than one car without losing the outside seating area, and it will depend on the size of the vehicles.

Unfortunately not. The nearest station is at the Spa shop in the village (400 yards away) or in Bridport.
The following delivers to this area: Morrisons, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. Please check your favourite supplier for any updates.
So long as your total number of guests does not exceed the occupancy number stated on our website, you are welcome to bring additional guests. If you wish to bring additional guests, over the number indicated to us at the time of booking, we do ask that you provide us with their full details 7 days prior to your stay. If you are looking to have day guests visit the holiday cottage during your stay, please let us know in advance. We are not insured to have more than the number specified in any of the cottages. The reason we need to know the make-up of your party is so we know who to expect both for safety and insurance reasons. This is the same reason we need to know in advance if you are expecting visitors during your stay.

Yes, but please, please, please talk to us before booking. There is not an extensive area for young children to play in and we just want you to be aware of this to avoid disappointment.

Unfortunately, No.  We have Muddy who is a brown and white border collie who thinks he owns the whole of Dorset.  I’m afraid he couldn’t cope with the competition!
We do not ask for a deep clean (you are on holiday afterall) but we do ask you to leave the cottage tidy, and to make sure the bins are outside and appropriately filled. There will be instructions from the cleaners regarding what to do with your bedding at the end of your stay to help them stay safe. Please remember to check you have not left toothbrush or mobile chargers, dongles or other items behind.

Accessibility

Midlands Farm Holiday Cottages are buildings that are over 200 years old and consequently are not as accessible as we would ideally like them to be and nor is it possible to significantly alter their fabric as they fall within the curtailage of Midlands Farm, which is Grade 2 listed building and within the Chideock conservation area.

Please talk to us about any additional needs and will do our best to accommodate or advise on alternative accommodation if we really aren’t the best destination for your party.

Directions to Midlands Farm

From the East

From Honition/Axminster direction, you will approach Chideock via the A35. On entering the village, look out for the church on the left and the Clock pub on the right (opposite). Duck Street is the first turn right just after The Clock. Proceed along this road just a few meters and you will see Midlands Farm driveway on your right.

From the West

From Dorchester/Bridport direction you will be approaching Chideock via the A35.  Travel through the village, continue past the pedestrian crossing in the centre of the village and then look for the church on your right as you go uphill.  Duck Street turning is opposite the church on the left hand side.  Proceed along the road just a few meters and you will see Midlands Farm driveway on your right.
